I was honored to be asked to illustrate for The Frick Collection's Annual Spring Garden Party this year by my dream client Saks Fifth Avenue! A few weeks ago I sketched Mother's Day cards live at their flagship store in collaboration with their Lingerie Department. I was thrilled they brought me back for a second event this past week at the Spring Garden Party. Fellows and Young Fellows turned up for the celebration of “Porcelain, No Simple Matter: Arlene Shechet and the Arnhold Collection.” All 650 attendees were drenched in white and gold attire, which was this years theme.
I had the pleasure of meeting another Fashion Illustrator, Lily Qian! We live sketched guests from 6:30-9:30pm. Live jazz, custom fashion sketches, cocktails and late night dancing in the music hall were all part of the celebration. Even the legendary Bill Cunningham turned up to capture a few magical moments of stunning dresses, big hats and classic suits! He will forever be missed from the fashion world and the NYC streets!
I also want to say a huge thank you to Sofia Garcia from Saks for helping organize the event and being so accommodating.
